Seattle Food Action Plan

With Seattle’s population expected to grow by 100,000 people over the next 20 years, it is important to identify ways to ensure that everyone in Seattle is able to participate in a food system that promotes health, environmental sustainability, racial and social equity, and a thriving economy.

This plan lays out the City of Seattle’s goals for its food system, as well as recommendations for the first steps to achieving those goals. Some of these recommendations include the support or expansion of existing programs, others relate to new initiatives or activities. Some recommendations have already been funded, while others will require additional funding to implement.
