This guidebook is intended as a resource for local governments that are developing mitigation programs for the conservation of farmland in California. The guidebook thoroughly discusses farmland mitigation policies and implementation strategies. It includes model policies and a model local ordinance. The California Council of Land Trusts developed this guidebook with input from experts in the fields of local governance, agriculture, conservation, law and mitigation.
