Rhode Island’s Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM) manages a buy-protect-sell program, known as the Farmland Access Program, in which the state purchases farmland from willing sellers, protects it, and then affordably sells it to qualified farmers. This document is a sample Request for Proposals used by RIDEM to solicit offers to purchase the protected farmland.
