Abstract:
California Assembly Bill 2720 requires the Departments of Food and Agriculture, Public Health and Social Services to make recommendations regarding actions that would promote "food justice" within the state. The bill states that access to fresh and healthy food is a "basic human right" and that opportunities for increasing grocery stores, urban farm stands, farmers' markets and direct farmer to consumer marketing should be actively pursued.
